Job Title: Communications Director
Job Summary:
Raven Strategies LLC is seeking an experienced Communications Director to spearhead a full-scale communications operation for our Brooklyn and Albany offices. The ideal candidate will have vast experience in press relations, drafting of communications, email blast management, social media planning and execution, and earned media.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive communications plan for the Albany and Brooklyn offices, including message calendars, social media calendars, press calendars, email calendars, and more.
- Serve as the primary contact for press inquiries and maintain strong press contacts for pitching stories and statements.
- Draft various types of communications, such as email blasts, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, op-eds, and more.
- Lead social media planning and implementation, including maintaining a social media calendar, managing social media channels, capturing events, developing content, and creating growth on social media.
- Manage the office's Mailchimp account, including maintaining an email calendar, creating growth, drafting email blasts, and maintaining lists.
- Pitch stories and ensure media coverage of press statements, events, rallies, and more.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in communications roles, ideally in a government office or political campaign setting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing full-scale communications planning and execution.
- Deep understanding of social media and press relations.
- Well-maintained press contacts are a major plus.
- Experience in graphic design is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to travel to Albany during the legislative session.
