University Health Services (UHS)
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in overseeing the network infrastructure of University Health Services (UHS), which includes managing over 50 servers, storage solutions, and network switches. Provides support for more than 400 workstations, mobile devices, printers, and scanners, including inventory management and upgrades of various hardware and software components. Aids in the administration of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, digital radiology, and other practice management software utilized within UHS. Responsible for offering technical assistance for Windows-based applications and devices. Evaluates new technologies for potential implementation. Supports the monitoring and maintenance of the Health and Wellness Center's network and associated resources.
- Engages in the upkeep of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Delivers support and technical guidance for UHS patient portal and mobile applications.
- Serves as the technical administrator for the University Health Center's digital radiology system, which encompasses Digital Radiography, Electrocardiogram (EKG), and Ultrasound. Aids in the administration, support, and maintenance of Health Center servers.
- Assists in the implementation, configuration, planning, maintenance, and training of new and existing privacy and security technologies aimed at ensuring a secure network environment for all UHS-related and vendor-hosted data. This includes, but is not limited to, antivirus and vulnerability solutions, patch management, remote access protocols, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Provides support for campus partners and vendors associated with University Health Services.
- Aids in training staff on EMR systems, Microsoft applications, basic computer functions, and other software applications.
- Responsible for the daily access security of the Health & Wellness Center, coordinating with individual units within the facility regarding scheduling of door lock/unlocks and access permissions to various areas. Maintains Panic Alarms assigned to designated staff members, which includes assignment, maintenance, and testing of the alarms. Reviews surveillance camera footage as necessary.
A Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent combined with experience totaling four years. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to computer support.
- Knowledge of relevant computer software and operating systems.
- Capability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple work assignments concurrently.
