Senior General Ledger Accountant

The Senior General Ledger Accountant is essential in overseeing general accounting functions for the company's operations within the United States. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with international teams and cross-functional partners, contribute to monthly financial closures, and conduct comprehensive account analyses. This role reports directly to the US Controller, assisting in managing end-to-end operational finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee various components of the financial closure and reporting processes, including the calculation and recording of journal entries, reviewing critical supporting documentation, and performing account reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular trend and variance analyses across relevant general ledger accounts, proactively addressing any discrepancies that arise.
  • Develop and document business procedures and associated controls, including the creation of flowcharts as necessary.
  • Support daily accounting and financial operations.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger entries and facilitate the monthly closure by identifying and resolving any issues or irregularities.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping by coding and processing financial data meticulously.
  • Participate in the annual audit process.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of the Annual Budget.
  • Collaborate with global accounting and reporting units to implement accounting processes for complex transactions.
  • Support the annual external audit, including compiling audit request items and schedules.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and assess the operational impact of any applicable changes.
Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • More than 5 years of experience in auditing financial statements, financial accounting, or similar positions.
  • Proven analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience working with business partners and engineers to drive strategic improvements.
  • Background in optimizing or redesigning existing processes to meet business needs.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with SAP is beneficial.
