Respiratory Sales Specialist

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Sales Specialist is a key role at AdaptHealth LLC, responsible for growing the high acuity respiratory patient base and associated device sales. This position requires building relationships with referral sources, ensuring continuity between community physician practices and home settings, and promoting awareness and education to healthcare professionals and patients regarding current home care options and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, contact, and build relationships with referral sources, maintaining ongoing business with medical community contacts.
- Conduct sales calls in the field to maintain contact with referral sources, providing information on AdaptHealth's products and services, and working with Sales Leadership to validate and develop territory call plans to grow business.
- Build long-term, trusting relationships with referral sources, evaluating interrelationships of referral source, medical team, and reimbursement concerns, and making fact-based, balanced decisions.
- Promote products and services to healthcare professionals, educating referral sources on product guidelines, documentation, and use of products and services provided by AdaptHealth.
- Collaborate with intake, customer service, document collection, and other functional areas within the company to help process orders and drive sales growth.
- Communicate and explain Medicare and private insurance procedures, pricing information, and product information to referral sources, generating a steady stream of referrals to meet sales growth goals.
- Create, execute, and manage a territory call plan, utilizing AdaptHealth Referral Management application to document sales calls, schedule, and sales plan.
- Increase referral volume from assigned accounts by promotion within business lines and cross-selling among business lines through regular and ongoing solicitation/facilitation of referral orders from assigned accounts.
- Work with the Intake team to obtain complete referral information and medical documentation to ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of referrals.
- Accept referrals based on current knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement guidelines for services and/or equipment, suggesting alternative equipment as warranted based on reimbursement limitations.
- Act as a resource to external customers to facilitate resolution of AH patient issues in coordination with operational teams within AH to assure optimal patient and referral source outcomes.
- Participate in obtaining MD orders/signatures for appropriate documentation and original prescriptions while on-site when the Intake team is unable to do so, promoting ePrescribe platforms for streamlined referral and documentation processes.
- Deliver and pick up required paperwork from physicians, such as doctors' orders and chart notes, conducting sales & service rounds in assigned facilities promoting availability for order processing, set-up, and patient equipment education.
- Identify programs or initiatives that potentially could increase company revenues, decrease costs, and/or increase referral source/patient satisfaction.
- Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
- Share information and expertise with peers to enable them to be effective, participating in team meetings as requested.
- Complete Boot Camp Sales Training courses and assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of services, products, insurance guidelines, eligibility, and reimbursement for patients, maintaining compliance with AdaptHealth's Compliance Program.
- Potentially set up patients on devices and offer clinical guidance to high acuity patient populations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience in B2B or B2C Sales is preferred.
- Prefer: Clinical background, experience related to Respiratory Care, and active license.
- Five (5) years of work-related experience in Healthcare Sales is preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence.
