Building Automation Specialist

Position Title: Building Automation Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement control algorithms, upload source code to controllers, manage system databases, and create user-friendly graphical interfaces.
  • Facilitate integration of various systems, ensuring seamless communication between different protocols and platforms.
  • Oversee project initiation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed Building Automation Systems (BAS) and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with the client's IT Department to coordinate network configurations, IP assignments, and monitoring tools.
  • Engage with equipment manufacturers to establish communication protocols, encryption standards, and database integration requirements.
  • Generate detailed reports to analyze system performance and work with project teams to validate system operations against project specifications.
  • Participate in final inspections and testing, ensuring customer satisfaction and providing training for end users on system functionalities.
  • Prepare Plans & Control System Documents for application engineering, utilizing the latest digital technologies for as-built documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Tridium Niagara AX/N4, with a certification in Niagara N4.
  • Proficient in Direct Digital Controls, LON, LonWorks, BACnet, and Tridium Niagara technologies.
  • Familiarity with leading manufacturers such as Honeywell WEBs, JCI Facility Explorer, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Delta Controls, and Distech is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ranging from unitary systems to central plants.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to differentiate between HVAC and control system issues.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking.
  • Proficient in Windows Operating System.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Able to interpret and understand blueprints.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $75.00.
