Mercy Imaging Centers, a division of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, offers innovative diagnostic imaging services at multiple locations. Our dedicated team collaborates with specialty-trained and board-certified radiologists to ensure high-quality care for our patients. We perform numerous imaging exams annually, striving to deliver superior imaging services with compassion and efficiency.

Responsibilities

The MRI and CT Imaging Specialist is accountable for understanding their professional scope of practice as outlined by the California Business and Professional Code. This role includes successfully completing the orientation period at Dignity Health Medical Foundation, demonstrating the skills and behaviors necessary for competent performance. The Imaging Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment while providing patient care services that support the practice of physicians and providers under the supervision of radiologists and other licensed staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients for MRI and CT examinations.
  • Communicating instructions from the radiologist to patients or authorized individuals.
  • Collecting and documenting patient data, concerns, and care provided in the patient's medical record for review by radiologists.
  • Performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures.
  • Occasionally working at other locations as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent.
  • Current licensure by the State of California in CRT.
  • Certification in MRAD:CA; RTR or RTMR; BLS-CPR.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging, operation and maintenance of radiology diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as an MRI/CT Imaging Specialist is preferred.
  • Six months of experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Advanced certification in MRI and CT through ARRT is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic practice management systems, including PACS, is preferred.

Pay Range

$61.91 per hour
