Responsibilities
Position Summary:

The Clinical Exercise Specialist plays a vital role in implementing exercise and cardiac stress programs as defined by the Cardiovascular Care team. All personnel in this role are expected to adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including Dignity Health's Standards of Conduct and policies. They must seek guidance when uncertain and report any potential violations promptly. Additionally, they will assist in risk evaluation and collaborate with facility leaders to develop and monitor corrective plans as part of the Compliance program.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting in the exercise treatment of patients as directed by clinicians, ensuring clear communication and documentation of vital information regarding patient progress and concerns.
  • Supporting the echo tech and care team in the exercise prescription for individual patients.
  • Facilitating patient exercise setup, including electrode placement and equipment assistance.
  • Monitoring patients' physiological responses during exercise, including heart rate, blood pressure, and overall exercise tolerance.
  • Collecting essential patient medical records and data necessary for conducting exercise tests.
  • Assisting in patient charting and completing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborating with imaging teams, physicians, and other care members to ensure high-quality patient care and effective communication.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a cardiac rehabilitation setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment commonly used in a Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, including computers, exercise machines, heart monitors, and EKG interpretation.
  • Current Health Provider BLS & ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience equivalent to the Exercise Test Specialist criteria set by the American College of Sports Medicine.
  • Direct experience in planning and supervising exercise programs for cardiovascular rehabilitation patients.
  • Master's degree in rehabilitation exercise physiology or a related field is preferred.

Pay Range
$42.28/hour
