Senior Donor Engagement Officer, Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Donor Engagement Officer to join our Development team at Boston University. This role will play a critical part in creating and implementing strategic stewardship plans for principal gift donors and prospects. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in development and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized stewardship plans for 20-30 principal gift donors/prospects, working closely with Development & Alumni Relations leadership and gift officers.
- Design and write donor acknowledgement and communication pieces, including condolence letters, tribute reports, and post-event gifts.
- Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director of Donor Engagement & Recognition to create and improve stewardship plans, and facilitate donor engagement opportunities with fund recipients.
- Develop reports to facilitate stewardship plan conversations and identify meaningful donor/prospect engagement opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in development, stewardship, donor relations, or advancement communications, preferably in a complex institution of higher education.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record in developing and implementing strategic solutions.
- Exemplary communication and writing skills, with the ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons at all levels of management.
