ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Oversee the Legal department and its strategic initiatives
  • Engage with external legal consultants as required
  • Act as the corporate secretary and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Provide legal insights to the executive leadership team, including the CEO
  • Manage financial transactions and mergers & acquisitions
  • Advise on employment law matters in partnership with Human Resources
  • Supervise the management of intellectual property and related disputes
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to support business operations
  • Serve as a strategic advisor throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Identify potential legal challenges in business dealings
  • Ensure compliance with international data protection laws

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years of legal practice focusing on licensing, software agreements, and client contracts
  • Strong background in corporate governance and management
  • Expertise in privacy regulations and data security
  • Juris Doctor degree with a distinguished academic record
  • Active membership in the California Bar or equivalent credentials
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, business acumen, and strategic insight
  • Experience in a top-tier law firm and in-house legal roles
  • Familiarity with the Insurtech sector
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions

The compensation for this role is $251,000 - $300,000, reflecting the candidate's experience, location, and industry benchmarks.
