Position Overview:

As a Lead Security Solutions Architect at Best Buy, you will collaborate closely with our Digital, Analytics & Technology teams to implement security requirements during the design phase. Your role will be crucial in connecting IT / Engineering with the broader Enterprise Risk & Compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for various engineering domains, leveraging your expertise in security capability areas such as Network, Cloud, Application Security, and Identity Access Management (IAM).
  • Maintain essential relationships while comprehending both business and technical objectives, ensuring a thorough understanding of ongoing initiatives within your portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the security architecture team to create new security control documentation and approved security patterns, while managing the associated document repositories.

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to work both on-site and remotely, with specific arrangements varying by role and team.

What You'll Do:

  • Engage in close collaboration with a diverse range of Engineering / IT teams.
  • Conduct threat modeling for proposed and existing solutions, developing comprehensive security requirements to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Drive transformation within the security architecture and consulting practices.
  • Act as an ambassador for Enterprise Risk and Compliance among development and engineering teams.
  • Create new security documentation for internal technical teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of technical experience in areas such as Application Development, Network Engineering, Cloud Security, Security Architecture, and Security Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in delivering comprehensive security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in engineering and maintaining security controls.
  • A demonstrated passion for security.
  • Direct experience with threat modeling methodologies.
  • Relevant industry certifications or training.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid cloud architecture and security controls.
