PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To expertly prepare culinary dishes in alignment with production needs and quality benchmarks while ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently prepare high-quality food by adhering to recipe specifications and production standards as indicated by service requests.
- Initiate the preparation of food items in advance, ensuring that production does not exceed projected requirements.
- Label all food storage containers and rotate inventory according to standard operating procedures, ensuring perishables are maintained at appropriate temperatures.
- Assess inventory levels for the shift, identify necessary preparations, and organize freezer and line setups. Report any shortages or out-of-stock items while assisting in maintaining buffet availability.
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas at the end of the shift, ensuring all perishables are properly covered and dated.
- Contribute to the development of strategies to address any food cost issues; manage food waste, loss, and usage in accordance with standard operating procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the preparation of vegetables and condiments as needed for subsequent shifts.
Qualifications and Skills:Education: Completion of high school or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least one year of experience in food service or a related field.
Skills and Competencies: Proficient in operating, maintaining, and cleaning kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills.
Employment Type: Full-time.
