Clinical Manager PCU RN

The Clinical Manager PCU RN is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Telemetry Department. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage human resources, investigate and resolve complaints, and provide direction in crisis situations.
Key Responsibilities- Provides leadership to the telemetry staff in the care of telemetry, stroke, and bariatric patients, as well as associated interventional cardiology protocols and medication.
- Obtains and interprets patient information to determine needs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and understands the range of treatment needed for patients.
- Participates in human resource management, including staffing, evaluation, counseling, and hiring.
- Ensures that performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner and that performance standards and competencies exist for each staff member.
- Facilitates the completion and submission of human resource documentation and counsels and disciplines staff as needed.
- Interviews and hires staff, coordinates attendance at hospital orientation and continuing education programs, and attends nursing leadership meetings.
- Maintains current records on employees, including certification, licensure, and continuing education.
- Communicates with staff on organizational, national healthcare, and professional issues and promotes sound staffing practices.
- Utilizes individual patient classification systems to predict nursing care requirements and maintains documentation to discern trends and patterns of nursing care delivery.
- Assesses and assists in the implementation of staff development and cross-training as needed.
- Supports hospital programs, including risk management, safety, and infection control, and performs scheduling functions.
- Facilitates unit workflow and teamwork and assists in the completion of standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Assists in the review and revision of policies and procedures and assists the Director in the development and accomplishment of departmental goals.
- Identifies areas of cost savings through labor and supply utilization efficiencies and communicates suggestions to the Director.
- California RN License (maintain current at all times)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to present self in a positive and professional manner
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification (maintain current at all times)
- Must successfully complete EKG test within the first 30 days of hire
