Surgical Technology Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Technology Intern to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Surgical Technology Intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provide support to surgical teams, including scrubbing and passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Assist with patient positioning and transportation, and maintain a high level of patient care and safety.
- Participate in the maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notify staff of any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform other physical demands of the role.
