About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling equipment with precision.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, providing emotional support and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform other physical demands of the role.
