Job Title: Construction Cost Estimator

HMS Inc. is a leading cost consulting firm providing expert services in construction cost estimation, construction scheduling, and life cycle cost analysis. We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Estimator to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a full-time Construction Cost Estimator with a minimum of five years of experience in construction cost estimating, construction project management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction estimating principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare cost estimates from conceptual levels of design through bid documents
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-off/surveys from drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Price materials, labor, and equipment
  • Obtain quotes from industry professionals, manufacturers, and vendors
  • Compile information into required estimate formats
  • On-site construction progress inspections
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of experience in construction cost estimating, construction project management, or a related field
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specifications, RFPs, and related technical documents
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software, Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera P6, RSMeans
  • Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize projects accordingly
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication with clients and owners
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000+ depending on experience, paid vacation, paid sick leave, vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plan with company contribution of 3%, and a health insurance stipend.
