About the Role:
Cencora is seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Mail Order Pharmacy Specialist. As a key member of our pharmacy operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical and product verification using our pharmacy management system to ensure accurate and efficient medication dispensing.
- Supervise and manage robotic dispensing systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize errors.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels within the automated system to ensure proper stock levels and correct medication storage.
- Assist with pick, pack, and ship procedures as needed to ensure timely delivery of medications to patients.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with prescribers and other medical staff to determine a patient's appropriate medical/prescription care plan.
- Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the ambulatory pharmacy, including assisting in marketing events and promotions.
- Assist with supervising and training pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Make recommendations to management regarding improvements to operating procedures and patient care.
- Submit, review, and handle all adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriateness of reimbursement and co-pay.
- Promptly and appropriately respond to patient inquiries, requests, and issues, escalating situations to a higher level of authority as needed.
- Provide consultation on pharmacy and therapeutic matters to various levels of organizational personnel.
- Assist with daily reporting and scheduling of hours worked for pharmacy technicians, adjusting scheduling as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
- Work collaboratively with organizational personnel on quality, satisfaction, service excellence, clinical care, and other initiatives as needed.
- Operate the point-of-sale system to ensure accurate and efficient processing of transactions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science Degree or Pharm D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current, unrestricted pharmacist license through the appropriate state board of pharmacy.
- Broad training and/or experience in business administration, sales, marketing, information technology, and retail/ambulatory pharmacy.
- Normally requires zero (1) to three (3) years of directly related and progressively responsible retail/ambulatory care pharmacy experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to resolve patient issues quickly and creatively to improve customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions.
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
