Job Overview

Career Renew is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technician to join our team in Wyomissing, PA. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer ionizing radiation to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms according to established protocols.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology as they relate to the procedure.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and subsequent evaluation of imaging parameters to optimize patient imaging and care.
  • Integrate technical skills, patient interaction, and care to obtain viable diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
  • Utilize independent professional judgment and critical thinking to obtain diagnostic information and seek direction from a qualified interpreting physician or institutional policies when necessary.
  • Remain sensitive to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of patients through effective communication, patient assessment, monitoring, and care skills.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess professional performance.
  • Comprehend the complexities of state and federal regulations and have knowledge of quality control and quality assurance requirements for mammography.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 11:30pm-8:00pm, with every 3rd weekend, occasional overtime, and on-call weekend rotations.

Requirements

  • Post-high school diploma program
  • Relevant experience in mammography or a related field
  • BLS certification
  • RT (R) or RT (M) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
