Position Summary:
The Behavioral Support Specialist III is tasked with overseeing client care focused on mental health assistance and managing potentially challenging behaviors. This role emphasizes the safety and well-being of clients, training staff on effective behavioral support strategies, including positive reinforcement techniques, mental health outcomes, and individualized care plans. The Specialist ensures adherence to clients' care plans while assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and program execution. Additionally, this position involves maintaining a safe and clean environment for clients.

About Us:
Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, behavioral health challenges, and chronic medical conditions. With over 50 years of service in the community, MORA offers a variety of programs, including Adult Day Services, Case Management, Community Supports, and specialized therapeutic programs.

Compensation: $16.50 – $22.40 based on qualifications.
Additional weekend differential of +$3.00 per hour for shifts from Friday 10 PM to Sunday 10 PM.
Night shift differentials of +$3.00 for hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM.
Retention Bonus: $1500 for full-time employment, disbursed over one year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily care, medical needs, and mental health support.
  • Collaborate with Health Services and Program Supervisors on mental health and behavioral issues.
  • Train new staff on mental health outcomes and positive support strategies.
  • Work with Program Supervisors to develop and update mental health plans.
  • Participate in the Behavior Response Team and interdisciplinary team processes.
  • Support clients in community engagement activities.
  • Implement person-centered services that respect the individuality of each client.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
  • Ensure proper supervision of clients at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Complete all required training and adhere to company policies.
  • Document care and program data accurately and promptly.
  • Utilize technology to support client care needs.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a mental health context.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in positive behavioral support and mental health.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

Required:

  • Pass a background check as mandated by the Department of Human Services.
  • Maintain eligibility for government health programs.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance if using a personal vehicle for work.
  • Successful completion of medication administration training.
