Position Overview

The Foster Care Program Coordinator will oversee and manage a range of Foster Care initiatives aimed at delivering comprehensive, culturally sensitive support to unaccompanied refugee and migrant children and their families. This role serves as a crucial link between Global Refuge partner organizations, Global Refuge, and federal foster care entities. The coordinator will ensure high-quality service delivery through effective program oversight, data management, trend analysis, and evaluation, alongside providing training and technical support.

This position offers remote work flexibility with occasional travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of Foster Care grants to partner agencies, ensuring adherence to child welfare best practices and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Foster Care partners serving unaccompanied migrant and refugee children, ensuring effective communication and peer learning.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners regarding service delivery, documentation, and compliance with federal obligations.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of Foster Care partners to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assess training needs and develop resources to enhance service delivery in line with recognized child welfare standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of various governmental reports, including quarterly and annual evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director to manage network capacity, including partner recruitment and retention.
  • Coordinate communication with Global Refuge partners and key stakeholders involved in service provision.
  • Support the Associate Director in ensuring effective information sharing regarding program developments and initiatives.
  • Represent Global Refuge Children's Services at external meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in agency-wide initiatives and activities, contributing to strategic goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related behavioral science field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in child welfare systems and practices.
  • At least three years of managerial experience with progressive responsibilities in program management and evaluation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, prioritizing tasks and exercising sound judgment in complex situations.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing partnerships across various sectors.
  • Experience in providing training and technical assistance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of legal and political issues related to immigration and child welfare.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
