Control Systems Specialist

This role reports directly to the Controls Engineer and is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the hospital's Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated controls equipment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building controls and monitoring systems, as well as HVAC and electrical systems. Experience with industry-standard BMS systems, such as Siemens, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls, is preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for adjusting BMS programming to optimize patient and staff comfort and energy efficiency, conducting preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, and responding to service calls.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for trending and proactively monitoring critical loads and alarm priorities, developing and implementing lead/lag, default, and failure mode programming, and field-verifying proper operation of all equipment being controlled and/or monitored.
The role also involves developing maintenance job plans for specific equipment, troubleshooting and resolving HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems, and implementing and managing primary and secondary critical alarm monitoring and dispatching.
The successful candidate will work closely with various departments and consultants to develop and implement energy optimization and alarm prioritization plans, administer contracts, and oversee supporting contractors and vendors.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal, written, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
They will also be able to interact with all levels of hospital personnel, vendors, and consultants, and have experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands, and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
