Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrocardiogram (EKG)/Telemetry Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a Cardiac Rhythm Specialist, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and functions for electro diagnostics, observing cardiac monitors, and identifying, calculating, interpreting, and communicating information regarding cardiac rhythms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical procedures and functions for electro diagnostics, including observing cardiac monitors and identifying, calculating, interpreting, and communicating information regarding cardiac rhythms.
  • Apply and discontinue telemetry services as instructed.
  • Enter telemetry charges, edits, and other paperwork as applicable to the department.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of cardiac monitor interpretation, skills, and abilities.
  • Must practice appropriate communication skills and sensitivity to patient's needs.
  • Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status, to identify each patient's population specific or behavioral needs and provide the care as needed.
  • Must be able to effectively teach others on cardiac rhythms and MUSE system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical terminology and CPR-basic knowledge.
  • Ability to operate electronic and computer-based equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of cardiac monitor interpretation, skills, and abilities.
