Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Medical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional laboratory services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary liaison for the laboratory with the facility's trauma team.
  • Coordinating blood bank and diagnostic services for trauma cases.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of quality indicators and standards, and effectively communicating these metrics to the team.
  • Identifying and reporting quality issues and implementing control procedures within the laboratory.
  • Conducting proficiency testing and ensuring timely processing of samples.
  • Assuming departmental responsibilities in the absence of supervisory staff.
  • Reviewing and managing pending logs and result logs to ensure timely resolution of outstanding tasks.
  • Receiving and verifying blood product shipments for quality assurance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • A valid State of Florida Technologist License or the ability to obtain one.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
