Position Overview:

As a Chapter Leader within Fidelity Institutional Technology, you will integrate extensive Software Engineering expertise with a strong commitment to coaching, mentoring, and nurturing talent. Your focus will be on enhancing the value provided to our clients by collaborating with fellow leaders to set standards for our chapters, influencing key strategic decisions, and developing high-quality software solutions. You will oversee a team of chapter members, including Software Engineers and Quality Analysts, who operate within the Digital Experience product area. Your intellectual curiosity and dedication to personal growth will empower you to bring innovative ideas to your role while fostering the development of others.
Essential Expertise and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture
  • Over 10 years of experience in building scalable enterprise applications
  • Proven experience in leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing teams in an agile environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate and maintain robust cross-functional relationships
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making for day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analysis
  • Familiarity with any of the following is highly advantageous:
    • Unit testing and test automation methodologies
    • Implementation of continuous delivery engineering practices
    • Front-end web development using responsive frameworks such as Angular
    • Middle-tier service development with strong API design skills (Java preferred)
    • Experience with Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services
    • Relational database development experience (Oracle preferred)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the composition and workforce planning of the chapter aligns with strategic business objectives
  • Support and empower chapter members to deliver valuable solutions through continuous improvement and learning
  • Facilitate an agile and seamless organization by exemplifying agile behaviors
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Infrastructure to comprehend new directives
  • Proactively engage with Chapter Area, Product Area, Center of Excellence, and Squad Leaders to:
    • Influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions, balancing business priorities with Total Lifecycle Management
    • Measure performance against established objectives and KPIs
    • Create learning opportunities and content to enhance associate skills
    • Set and enforce standards to ensure alignment with established roadmaps
    • Drive stability and observability of all software products in production environments
  • Actively share insights, knowledge, and industry practices across the organization

You will lead associates responsible for developing and supporting applications that serve our Institutional clients.
