Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Resilient Space Missions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge optical communications systems, radar, and SIGINT applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Propose innovative solutions to customer problems, leveraging your expertise in signal processing and system architecture.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop digital signal processing algorithms and integrate them into our systems.
  • Work closely with customers to define system requirements and ensure successful implementation.
  • Develop and implement signal processing solutions in communication and radar systems, utilizing your knowledge of random processes, communication theory, and spectral analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of system-level analysis and proposal engineering, ensuring that our solutions meet the needs of our customers.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in applied signal processing, with a proven track record of developing and implementing signal processing solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in architectural definition, design, and integration of complex systems.
  • Validated experience in collaborating with customers and developing system-level analysis.
  • Ability to perform systems-level analysis and derive module/box requirements from system-level requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • US government position, US citizenship required, and active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret with SSBI/SCI when administratively feasible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SSBI/SCI highly preferred.
  • Experience writing discrete-time simulations in Matlab, C/C++, or Python.
  • Knowledge of RF or networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP), AESA/phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or EW.

Viasat offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary range of $151,000 to $263,100 annually, plus additional cash or stock incentives, and a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
