About the Role

Akiak Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Event Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating corporate events, identifying suitable venues and services, and ensuring seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning:

  • Collaborates with the Director of Business Operations to assess corporate event needs, including venues, services, and requirements.
  • Develops and maintains lists of available venues and services, including pricing options.
  • Compiles price lists and provides details to the Director of Business Operations for events.
  • Coordinates event planning with staff, including developing agendas and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Travel Coordination:

  • Researches and compares available travel and hotel options to identify the best choice for each travel need.
  • Communicates with travel agencies and vendors to facilitate travel arrangements (flights, hotels, meeting spaces, etc.).
  • Creates and maintains a database for employee travel data, including corporate credit cards, reward numbers, and frequent flyer information.
  • Makes travel arrangements and reservations as requested, within approved platforms.
  • Distributes travel itineraries and schedules to relevant staff members.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; some higher education preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in travel or event coordination or a related field.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the travel industry.
  • Excellent decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
