Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security services to our transit facilities and infrastructure, including vehicles and equipment.
  • Protect our facilities and infrastructure from unlawful intrusion and criminal acts.
  • Ensure public safety and provide assistance to the public as needed.
  • Investigate crimes and make sound recommendations to prevent future incidents.
  • Enforce City codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Interpret and explain City policies and procedures to the public.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports on incidents and activities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of security, customer service, or parking operations experience.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six months from date of hire.
  • Ability to successfully complete and pass the Albuquerque Police Department Transit Safety Training Academy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Principles and practices of security procedures.
  • Principles and practices of fire safety and evacuation procedures.
  • Methods and techniques of two-way radio communication.
  • Office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping and basic report preparation.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Safe work practices.
