The Lead Early Childhood Educator plays a crucial role in managing a classroom for children aged 3 to 5 years. This position involves collaborating with an assistant educator, family members, and other professionals to ensure positive developmental outcomes for all children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize classroom layout, materials, and displays to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster positive interactions with children, providing emotional support and effective behavior management.
  • Implement the selected curriculum with precision, ensuring alignment with overarching educational goals.
  • Develop and adjust weekly lesson plans, incorporating individual and small-group activities.
  • Establish a consistent classroom routine that supports children's learning processes.
  • Engage with children throughout the day to offer tailored support.
  • Document children's progress through continuous observation and assessment activities.
  • Conduct quarterly assessments for each child, analyzing data to inform individualized planning.
  • Complete developmental screenings for all children within designated timeframes.
  • Integrate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with special needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families through effective communication.
  • Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences as part of family engagement.
  • Participate in reflective coaching and self-evaluation processes.
  • Collaborate with the assistant educator and other staff members.
  • Share relevant information with support staff to address the needs of children and families.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or state-awarded preschool teacher certification, with experience in preschool education.
  • Completion of a physical examination and background checks is mandatory.
  • A valid state-issued identification is required; a valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.

  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and basic data systems.
  • Dependability and integrity in meeting deadlines.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
