As a leader in ensuring our customers receive the reliability and excellence they expect, you will play a vital role in integrating quality into our design processes, enabling large-scale production with capable suppliers. This position demands a comprehensive set of technical and leadership abilities.

You will be involved early in the development cycle to facilitate new technologies across Apple’s product range.
Responsibilities:
Core Technology Quality Engineers are tasked with spearheading quality enhancement initiatives for upcoming products.

Your role will involve enabling manufacturing processes that are capable of mass production and formulating plans to validate and verify product quality at each development milestone.

You will employ an engineering approach to problem-solving and make decisions based on data analysis. Quality Engineers are also responsible for developing suppliers that can consistently perform at a high level.

  • Identify and implement quality enhancement opportunities for future products
  • Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on new technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Conduct technical Failure Analysis to support root cause identification and resolution
  • Create Product Quality Plans (PQP)
  • Establish quality monitoring systems that generate insightful metrics, indicating outgoing quality across the supply chain
  • Develop and drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling techniques, and cosmetic requirements
  • Manage quality escalations and issues
  • Cultivate suppliers that can serve as both technology and scaling partners
  • International travel may be required (up to 25%)
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in a technical field, high-volume manufacturing, or development of consumer electronics or components
BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Strong statistical and data analytics capabilities, including statistical process control and sampling methods
A data-driven and results-oriented approach to problem-solving and failure analysis techniques
Effective communication skills, including the ability to present to executive levels and lead cross-functional teams
Familiarity with Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, and Reliability Methods/Models
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, which is determined within a range. This structure allows for growth and development within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $135,900 and $204,600, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Eligible employees can receive discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
