Position Overview

The Planning Systems Business Administrator plays a crucial role in facilitating a comprehensive Planning process by ensuring the availability of effective tools and streamlined business practices. This individual serves as a reliable Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Business Planning, providing essential support to the team. They enhance team performance through insightful data analysis, reporting, and the synchronization of the Go-To-Market (GTM) calendar. By fostering collaborative relationships, they promote consistent practices and challenge existing norms, driving ongoing enhancements. Acting as the primary system administrator, they maintain strong partnerships to test, troubleshoot, and sustain an integrated system that aligns with business requirements. They adeptly balance the needs of both IT and business stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in Planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in projects as needed and support the key initiatives of the Planning leadership team.
  • Bridge communication between Planning and IT departments, nurturing relationships with IT Product teams involved in Planning Solutions.
  • Contribute to the success of the Planning Team by identifying business needs and proposing effective solutions while challenging conventional practices.
  • Share responsibility for the administration of Planning systems, acting as the 'Product Owner' for 'Planning Analytics' and 'MSO' to ensure consistent performance.
  • Develop, document, and refine the operations, practices, and procedures of the Business Planning team, integrating system functionalities to empower associates and drive profitable outcomes aligned with key GTM milestones and monthly planning cycles.
  • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence and motivate peers and leaders.
  • Mentor and enhance the Planning team's understanding of systems and processes as a trusted Planning & Systems SME.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to assess and generate meaningful data and exception reports.
  • Quickly assimilate technical information and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Coordinate and facilitate centralized training for new Business Planning team members on the fundamentals of Planning Tools and Systems.
  • Proactively stay informed about Carhartt Business Units and their ongoing performance and strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning or forecasting role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of retail mathematics and forecasting methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels, including management and retail partners.
  • A flexible team player who excels in environments that require strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects and deliverables.
  • A self-driven, passionate, and enthusiastic individual eager to bring energy and innovation to their role.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and Planning tools.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Standard office environment; cubicle or office setting.
  • Occasional work outside of regular hours may be required.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and typing on a computer are necessary.
  • Travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is remote, with no regular on-site requirements. On-site travel is limited to special events.
