Position Overview

The Planning Systems Business Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting a comprehensive Planning process by delivering a dependable toolkit and streamlined business procedures. This individual serves as a reliable Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Business Planning, providing essential support to the team. They enhance team performance through insightful data, effective reporting, and the integration of the Go-To-Market (GTM) calendar. By fostering collaborative relationships, they drive adherence to core principles and challenge existing norms, facilitating ongoing enhancement. Acting as a 'Super User' with varying levels of system administration responsibilities, they maintain robust partnerships to test, troubleshoot, and uphold an integrated system that aligns with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in projects as needed and support key initiatives from the Planning leadership team.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between Planning and IT departments, maintaining relationships with IT Product teams involved in Planning Solutions.
  • Contribute to the success of the Planning Team by understanding business requirements and identifying optimal solutions, while challenging the status quo.
  • Share administrative responsibilities for Planning systems as the 'Product Owner' for 'Planning Analytics' and 'MSO' to ensure consistent performance.
  • Develop, assess, document, and refine the operations, practices, and procedures of the Business Planning team, integrating system functionality to empower associates and drive profitable outcomes aligned with key GTM milestones and monthly planning cycles.
  • Exhibit strong leadership abilities and the capacity to influence and persuade peers and management.
  • Mentor and enhance the Planning team's understanding of systems and processes as a trusted Planning & Systems SME.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams/tools to evaluate, analyze, and produce meaningful data and exception reports.
  • Quickly assimilate technical information and communicate effectively across varying levels, catering to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Coordinate and develop centralized training for new Business Planning team members on the fundamentals of our Planning Tools and Systems.
  • Proactively stay informed about Carhartt Business Units and their ongoing performance and strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning or forecasting role.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong proficiency in Retail mathematics and forecasting methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with all organizational levels, including management and retail partners.
  • Adaptable team player who excels in environments that demand strong organizational skills to prioritize workload effectively, managing multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
  • Self-driven, passionate, and enthusiastic individual eager to contribute energy and excitement to their role.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications (MS Office and Planning tools).

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Standard office environment; cubicle or office setting.
  • Occasional work outside of regular hours may be required.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and typing on a computer are necessary.
  • Travel may be required, potentially up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is remote, with no regular on-site requirements; on-site travel is limited to special events.
