- Drive growth of the master benefits program (Health, Dental, Vision, Ancillary, etc.).
- Advise client companies on benefits offerings aligned with their objectives, providing strategic guidance and decision-making support.
- Educate client employees (worksite employees) on the value of their benefits and simplify complex industry concepts during open enrollment sessions to maximize engagement and participation.
- Engage in field-driven new business development, identifying opportunities and ensuring client fit.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in employee benefits, offering strategic guidance, training, and support to clients and peers, contributing to the professional development of the team.
- Enhance the client and worksite employee experience with BBSI and the Benefits Program throughout the client's lifecycle by effectively managing client relationships, including:
- Onboarding and implementation of benefit plans, ensuring compliance.
- Proactively reaching out to clients throughout the year to provide timely and thorough resolution of escalated issues.
- Managing renewals and client retention.
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Benefits Consultant Manager and collaborating with various roles within the business units, branches, and corporate office.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in employee benefits at a brokerage or general agency; experience in Account Management and/or Benefits Administration is advantageous. Prior PEO experience is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of employee benefits principles and practices, including state and federal laws and regulations, product and market knowledge, industry trends, and underwriting concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain extensive knowledge of master plan contracts, carrier partnerships, competitors, plan limitations, internal processes, underwriting requirements, and compliance considerations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex concepts to diverse audiences in both verbal and written formats.
- Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to conduct impactful meetings and deliver successful presentations and training sessions.
- Proven ability to cultivate relationships with branch leaders, business unit team members, referral sources, and operational support staff.
- Demonstrated capability to manage a portfolio of accounts while fostering strong client relationships and establishing trust with business owners.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a readiness to engage in administrative tasks as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with CRM software.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% during peak periods, including potential overnight stays.
- Current Life and Health Insurance Producer's License.
This position offers:
- The opportunity to work for a results-oriented and growing national publicly traded company.
- The chance to collaborate with a team of experts to influence the success and growth of client companies, the benefits program, and the organization.
- Engagement with clients across various industries.
