Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team at Everstand. The successful candidate will be responsible for the academic, social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth and development of all children in their classroom.

The Lead Teacher will develop partnerships with birth parents and/or guardians to engage and encourage parent participation in the program. They will also develop weekly lesson plans according to the Creative Curriculum and implement age-appropriate activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of children's development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and be able to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing developmental assessments using ASQ's and Teaching Strategies Gold.
  • Engage in intentional interactions with children in teaching and learning.
  • Write required reports and keep accurate and orderly records.
  • Provide guidance and direction to assigned Assistant Teachers and/or Volunteers.
  • Participate in all mandatory professional meetings and in-service professional development.
  • Work effectively with parents, other staff, and colleagues.
  • Use positive guidance when addressing children's behavior.
  • Plan, organize, and set up planned activities that stimulate children's curiosity and abilities.
  • Support NAEYC best practices and guidelines.
  • Represent Everstand by being responsive, caring, and informative in communication with parents and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in the Early Childhood Education setting.
  • Associate degree in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies, or a closely related field.
