Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Brockton Neighborhood Health Center. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, internal and external referrals, and collect patient copays and deductibles.
  • Manage patient correspondence, including phone calls, voicemails, and written communications.
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referral tracking.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, including providers, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and photocopying, as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, providing feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; medical secretary program preferred.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, including Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and practice management software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
