Job Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support to our physicians and office staff at Speare Memorial Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient charts for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary information is available for the physician.
  • Assist with minor office procedures, label and prepare laboratory specimens for transport, and complete referral letters as needed.
  • Screen and process incoming calls, verify patient information, and maintain medical supplies in exam rooms and supply closets.
  • Administer immunizations and medications as directed by the physician or advanced practitioner, and document in the EMR.
  • Perform CLIA waived in-office testing and document results in the EMR.
  • Fill vacancies at other Speare physician offices as requested, and perform clerical duties as needed.
Requirements
  • High school graduate with medical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical office.
  • AAMA Credentialed within the first 6 months of employment if not Registered or Certified.
  • Typing and computer skills necessary.
  • Experience with Nextgen or other electronic medical record system(s) preferred.
