Pediatric Nurse I Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse I to join our team at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. As a key member of our pediatric care team, you will provide exceptional patient care, education, and support to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and coordinate skilled patient care, including triage, patient management, and documentation.
  • Provide direct patient care in medical emergencies and educate patients and families on pediatric healthcare.
  • Coordinate patient care among staff, schedule tests and procedures, and pre-certify diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Triages incoming patient calls, assesses symptoms, and provides patient guidance and/or consults with the provider when necessary.
  • Identify and report policy and procedural deficiencies and recommend changes.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred, but not required.
