Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of pediatric health care.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care to assigned patients, including completion of health assessments, determining diagnoses, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges. The successful candidate will also participate in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents, and other healthcare disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise and within parameters of medical staff privileges.
  • Obtain relevant patient health history, study and interpret patient tests and records, perform physical exams, and record findings.
  • Perform various diagnostic, preventive, and/or therapeutic procedures, order special screenings and developmental or laboratory tests, and interpret results.
  • Prescribe/order appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and develop a treatment plan.
  • Develop an educational plan for patient/family and assist with scheduling of patients for upcoming procedures.
  • Order appropriate consultation/referral, determine effectiveness of treatment plan, and reassess and modify plan with patient/family and treatment team.
  • Participate in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents, and other healthcare disciplines.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing or Doctorate degree in Nursing required.
  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois required.
