The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist. This is a faculty position that requires providing clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, and participating in research and scholarly activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical services to patients admitted to Children's Hospital of Illinois and ambulatory clinics.
  • Participating in teaching medical students, residents, and other health professionals.
  • Conducting clinical and/or translational research in the field of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
  • Participating in infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship committees.
  • Providing phone consultations for other hospitals and Pediatric offices in Illinois.
  • Providing guidance for community outbreaks.

Requirements include:

  • MD/DO degree or equivalent.
  • BC/BE in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
  • Will hold or be eligible for an Illinois physician license.
