Strategic Marketing Leader

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts and drive growth in the geospatial market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing successful marketing strategies that align with our company goals.

The Sanborn Map Company is one of the oldest continuously operating mapping and geospatial information technology companies in the US. Our work is highly visual, and our mapped data and applications are an essential part of today's information economy. We serve many industries and government departments and need to communicate effectively with them about our wide range of products and services.
Job Summary
The Marketing Director will be responsible for leading a small dynamic team of Social, Graphic Design, and Web specialists. You will work closely with the heads of Sales and Business Development to ensure that our marketing activities are well-integrated with our sales and business development efforts.
Main Responsibilities
- Brand Management: Oversee the on-going development and management of the company's brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and events.
- Lead Generation: Develop and implement lead generation strategies to drive sales and business growth.
- Leadership: Provide leadership for the Marketing Team. Leading, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing professionals. Fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Market Research: Stay informed of Sanborn's business development and sales campaigns, industry trends, and competitive posture to drive messaging and brand positioning.
- Content Generation: Lead and contribute to content generation, including idea generation, quality control, innovation, and as a contributing writer.
- Creative Application: Apply creativity to various communication systems, including web pages, emails, social media, video, YouTube channel, press releases, paid advertising, trade show displays, and digital and printed materials.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on marketing activity and results to track progress, identify successful efforts, and promote process improvement.
- Calendar Management: Manage and maintain a calendar of marketing activity and commitments.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Managing 3-4 staff
Qualifications

- Experience: 5+ years of relevant marketing experience required. Working at an Advertising Agency or Consultancy a plus.
- Creative Mindset: A natural ability to think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive and driven, with a strong desire to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.
- Adaptable: Comfortable with change and able to pivot strategies as needed to meet evolving business goals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $90,000 and $130,000 annually. Sanborn offers a comprehensive health and wellness program which includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, holiday, PTO, EAP, disability and life insurance benefits.
