Position Overview:

The Core Banking Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the oversight and upkeep of essential banking software and associated services. This role serves as the primary support for both the EIS Associate Analyst and the EIS Senior Analyst, focusing on daily Level I and II assistance for the hardware and operating systems that underpin the Core Banking applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor mission-critical systems within the Enterprise Information Systems Department in a high-availability setting.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining user access on core banking software and related products interfacing with the banking core.
  • Act as the backup for System Security Administration duties and oversee print queue management.
  • Work collaboratively with IT staff to deliver services and resolve related issues.
  • Serve as the backup contact for Core Banking issues directed to the Enterprise Information Systems Department.
  • Monitor system health and performance metrics, analyze performance reports, and automate reporting tasks.
  • Ensure successful implementation and monitoring of system enhancements to boost the efficiency of the Enterprise Information Systems Department.
  • Collaborate with the EIS Senior Analyst to assess and evaluate departmental system operations, providing insights for improved service delivery.
  • Document support processes and procedures relevant to the systems managed by the Enterprise Information Systems Department.
  • Work with the EIS Senior Analyst to adhere to established Change Management Policies, including installation, upgrades, configuration, deployment, and administration of Enterprise Information Systems applications and hardware.
  • Guarantee user satisfaction by adhering to Service Level Agreements through proactive management of potential availability, capacity, and performance challenges, and by swiftly addressing issues as they arise.
  • Assist in maintaining high levels of availability and security for business applications, contributing to the planning and execution of policies and procedures that align with the Bank's objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in backup and recovery operations for all infrastructure and networking functions, playing a vital role in disaster recovery exercises.
  • Support IT Technical Team members in system administration tasks as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the EIS Associate Analyst and other IT staff.
  • Be available for after-hours and weekend support as required.
  • Carry out compliance and risk management responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong writing skills to document technical requirements, processes, and procedures, including updates or modifications.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of general banking practices.
  • Act as a backup for other technical roles as needed.
  • Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; professional certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with IBM midrange systems, with current knowledge of Power/IBM i V7+.
  • Experience in hardware installation and system performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with MIMIX High Availability/Disaster Recovery technology.
  • Knowledge of Power/IBM i security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and innovation.
  • Commitment to high standards of professionalism, integrity, and service delivery.
