Position Summary:

Role Responsibilities:
  • Optimize provider schedules by adjusting appointment durations, redistributing, or consolidating appointments as necessary.
  • Ensure precise scheduling that aligns with provider availability and patient preferences.
  • Educate and train support staff and providers on best practices for appointment scheduling, including strategies for managing patient expectations.
  • Initiate prior authorization requests with insurance providers by submitting required documentation and medical records.
  • Follow up on prior authorization requests, providing additional information as needed to secure timely approvals for medications.
  • Establish clear communication channels regarding appointment details, prior authorization status, and insurance coverage with patients, support staff, and providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of scheduled appointments, prior authorization requests, and insurance communications.
  • Act as a liaison between providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate effective communication and resolve any arising issues.
  • Safeguard patient information and maintain confidentiality by managing medical records securely.
  • Adhere to professional standards to protect the practice.
  • Respond to verbal and electronic inquiries for information and assistance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following established standards and legal regulations.
  • Assist in crisis situations and understand emergency procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with client HIPAA rights and other confidentiality protections.
  • Efficiently handle documents for filing, scanning, and communication as required.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare settings or insurance verification is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with clinical settings is preferred.
