Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Financial Reporting to join our team at StandardAero. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of our external financial statements and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of our quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including the management's discussion and analysis (MD&A) section.
  • Financial Analysis: Manage the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement variance analysis and provide financial support and direction to remote entities for complex contracts and accounting issues.
  • Technical Accounting: Lead and review technical accounting memos prepared by the external reporting department and provide guidance to the strategic business units on implications.
  • Financial Compliance: Review and analyze submitted financial information from strategic business unit controllers for compliance with corporate policies and accuracy of data.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of emerging U.S. GAAP and IFRS regulations and ensure adoption and implementation across the organization with development of accounting policies, procedures, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate and lead activities with internal and external auditors to ensure timely, accurate completion of consolidated financial audits.
  • International Compliance: Liaise with international external auditors for completion of individual legal entity statutory audits and review preparation of financial statements under applicable local GAAP requirements.
  • Accounting Treatment: Determine accounting treatment for corporate transactions such as debt arrangements, hedging contracts, acquisitions, and changes in legal structure.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial information for annual reports and regulatory agency disclosures as required.

Requirements

  • Education: University degree in business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field; or equivalent.
  • Accounting Designation: Recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA).
  • Experience: Several years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning, and analysis or other financial activity.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS regulations.
