Job Overview

The Executive Vice President of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions within the organization. This pivotal role will manage financial reporting and compliance, driving financial planning and analysis to support business management and forecast future growth. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Budget Management:

  • Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the organization's objectives and client expectations.
  • Supervise corporate budget planning, forecasting, and cost management in accordance with the strategic plan.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the organization, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

Financial Operations Management:

  • Direct all financial and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements for financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to protect the organization’s financial assets.
  • Manage tax obligations and compliance in collaboration with internal legal and risk management teams.
  • Oversee treasury functions and ensure compliance with client treasury policies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

Reporting and Financial Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyze financial outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Present financial reports to stakeholders, including ownership and executive leadership.
  • Coordinate financial reporting systems and processes with third-party partners.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Ensure the finance and accounting team operates effectively and efficiently.

Corporate Development:

  • Participate in the development of corporate policies as part of the senior management team.
  • Engage with external partners, including auditors and financial institutions.
  • Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage financial risks associated with the organization and its operations.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks at both corporate and operational levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the asset/property management sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Yardi and advanced Excel skills.
