Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at the State of California. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment used in our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, including trucks, cranes, and excavators
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment issues
  • Work in a shop and/or field environment, as needed
  • Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Requirements
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a shop and/or field environment, which may involve exposure to dirt, noise, and uneven surfaces. The incumbent may also be required to work in inclement weather and travel to other locations as needed.
