The Senior Vice President of Financial Strategy and Analysis will oversee budgeting, forecasting, planning, and analytical functions for our expansive $20 billion retail organization.
This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a crucial part in shaping the company's strategic growth initiatives.
This position drives informed business decisions through actionable insights and thorough analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the enhancement of financial and business intelligence systems to ensure precision and accuracy in all financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. Provide timely, accurate, and insightful analyses of financial statements, annual budgets, financial trends, and ongoing forecasts.
Oversee initiatives aimed at improving profitability through strategies related to sales optimization and margin enhancement. Collaborate closely with investor relations on current projections and key messaging.
Proactively analyze business performance and results, offering concise recommendations for future drivers.
Review historical and current financial performance against budgets, developing models to assist management in understanding the financial implications of business decisions.
Formulate strategies to help the organization achieve its long-term financial goals.
Work alongside executive management to align departmental strategies with the organization's overarching objectives.
Lead the annual long-range forecasting process and prepare presentations for executive management and the Board. Oversee the preparation of all Board materials.
Guide a team in developing key performance indicators that measure the financial health of the company and its operations.
Direct and manage the work of other employees, including responsibilities for hiring, performance management, and terminations.
Special Projects as Assigned
Experience & Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. CPA, CFA, or other professional accounting or finance qualifications are strongly preferred.
15+ years of relevant experience is essential, with a preference for public company experience and a background in retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
Skills required include:
- Proven experience in organizing and leading finance processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Deep understanding of balance sheets, revenue drivers, margins, and reporting methodologies.
- Significant experience collaborating with senior management.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strategic thinking with a demonstrated capacity to provide insightful recommendations to the executive team.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and simplify complex situations.
- Proactive stakeholder management approach, capable of influencing at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position is starting from $270,000.00, with actual salaries varying based on factors such as location, education, experience, and qualifications.
