Position Overview

The role of the caregiver is essential in providing non-medical assistance to clients who require support in their daily activities. The caregiver will help clients with tasks they may find challenging to perform independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must possess reliable transportation or be able to drive.
  • Assist clients with meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, pet care, and running errands as necessary.
  • Provide companionship and support during appointments and social engagements.
Work Schedule
  • Available for weekends only, specifically Saturday and Sunday.
  • Must be available to work on holidays.

  • Compassionate approach to serving elderly clients with various health conditions.
  • Engagement in recreational activities that promote social interaction and sensory stimulation.
  • Participation in monthly training and departmental meetings.
  • Assist clients with necessary communications, such as phone calls and letter writing.
  • Maintain a safe and clean home environment for clients.
  • Accompany clients on walks and community outings.
  • Remind clients to take self-administered medications.
  • Demonstrate good physical and mental health, with a caring attitude and personal hygiene.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedural manuals.
  • Effective communication with clients, family members, and staff.
  • Report any changes in client assignments to the staffing coordinator.
  • Promote a sense of well-being and comfort for clients.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including grooming, bathing, and feeding.
Physical Requirements

This position requires light physical exertion, including driving and assisting clients with mobility. The caregiver will frequently stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.

Environmental Considerations

Caregivers may encounter environmental hazards, including exposure to infectious diseases while providing care in clients' homes.

Experience and Education
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a similar role.
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
