Position Overview at Serenity Care Resources

The Personal Support Specialist will play a vital role in assisting clients with non-medical activities of daily living (ADLs) who require support in their everyday routines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation: Must possess reliable transportation or be able to drive.
  • Client Assistance: Aid clients with meal preparation, medication reminders, light cleaning, laundry, shopping, pet care, and running errands.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship through conversation, reading, and listening.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in recreational activities to enhance social interaction.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe home environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Work Schedule:
  • Weekends Only: Saturday and Sunday, including holidays.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Willingness to attend necessary training and meetings.
  • Capability to assist with medication reminders and light housekeeping duties.
Physical Requirements:

This role involves light physical activity, including driving, assisting with transfers, and performing light housekeeping tasks. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortably stand, walk, bend, and reach.

Environmental Considerations:

Caregivers may encounter environmental hazards, such as infectious diseases, while working in client homes.

Experience and Education:
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a similar role.
  • Preferred Qualification: CNA/HHA certification (1 year).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
