Job Title: Electrical Technician I

UE Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician I to join our team. As an Electrical Technician I, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Repair and replace defective parts in controllers, switchboards, switches, conductors, and other electrical fixtures.
  • Install and maintain electrical components.
  • Perform preventive repair and maintenance of field electrical systems, devices, equipment, and components.
  • Test solid-state circuitry to find defective parts in digital and analog equipment and replace defective parts.
  • Install enhancements and major upgrades to electrical subsystems.
  • Design and modify motor power control equipment circuits, read, and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of all preventive maintenance duties.
  • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry working with low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Proficient ability to calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and install instrumentation and/or electrical equipment.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Must be capable of utilizing proper PPE.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels).
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Requires crawling and working in narrow spaces.
  • Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, screwdrivers, and impact tools.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
  • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Exposed to cold, heat, noise, mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
  • Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.
  • Will be required to work at a minimum height of four feet off of the ground.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and motor vehicles as required.
