About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Technician to join our team at AMS Healthcare Staffing.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications to patients in a safe and efficient manner, under the supervision of a licensed RN. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Medication Administration: Prepare and administer prescribed medications to patients, adhering to all safety principles and facility policies.
  • Documentation: Accurately document medication administration on the Medication Administration Record (MAR), as well as any medications not administered and the reason for non-administration.
  • Infection Control: Adhere to proper infection control techniques during medication administration, including universal precautions when indicated.
  • Adverse Reactions: Recognize and report any adverse patient medication reactions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Supply Management: Reorder and replace medications and medication administration supplies as needed.
  • Patient Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and respect patients' rights, adhering to HIPAA Regulations.
  • Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to resolve practical and emergent situations, accurately following standardized procedures as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of a state-approved training program for Certified Medication Technicians or equivalent experience.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medication Technician (CMA) or Qualified Medication Aide (QMA).
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
