About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Decarbonization Subject Matter Expert - Principal Mechanical Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead our efforts in decarbonization and electrification, working closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to our design team, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies related to decarbonization and electrification, working closely with our senior leadership team.
  • Consult with clients on energy and carbon goals, design concepts, and project economics, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and strategies to promote our services related to decarbonization and electrification.
  • Supervise and mentor our Mechanical discipline managers, ensuring that they are providing timely and adequate guidance and quality oversight to our project teams.
  • Recruit and develop technical staff and project managers to deliver on project commitments, focusing on energy planning, modeling, and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Provide technical training and development of staff related to energy planning, modeling, and life cycle cost analysis, as well as design of high-performance and low-carbon buildings, electrified/geothermal heating systems, and other clean energy technologies.
  • Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for our Mechanical discipline area, leading the development of our office Mechanical standards and coordinating those standards through our Chief Engineer.
  • Engineer of Record on select projects as needed, providing on-the-spot advice and decisions on technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with client/project managers and department managers within an office to resolve Mechanical engineering conflicts.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project opportunities and Go/No Go determination based on technical qualifications, resource availability, and alignment with business strategy and portfolio.
  • Provide technical interface with code officials and contractors, and actively participate in local and national technical organizations, presenting at conferences and industry events.
Requirements
  • Accomplished mechanical engineer/PE with 20+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems, thermal energy infrastructure, and clean energy technologies.
  • Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success in meeting contract specifications and achieving high-performance and advanced energy design standards.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
