About the Role

Dewberry is seeking a highly skilled Civil 3D Specialist to join our team in the Denver, CO office. As a key member of our Virtual Design Group, you will be responsible for supporting site civil and land development business units, troubleshooting issues related to the C3D suite of products, and developing content to maintain company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and answer questions from production staff related to site civil projects.
  • Have strong technical knowledge of pressure pipe networks, gravity networks, and edit network parts lists.
  • Fundamental understanding of trench drains and their application in site civil projects.
  • Help with Civil groups to create plan and profiles for corridors/roads with medians.
  • Significant knowledge of storm drain structures and pipe label styles.
  • Train Civil 3D users on how to set up projects using Dewberry's CAD standards and client standards.
  • Assist in coordination and quality of Civil production graphics.
  • Help train users on pressure networks, corridor modeling, terrain modeling, and site and survey workflows.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and assets.
  • Assist and review efforts of Discipline Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Application Experts.
  • Develop and execute in-house training schedules and curricula.
  • Fundamental understanding of site civil plans, grading, and profiles.
  • Develop/maintain civil production procedures, standards, and techniques for increased productivity and quality for all Dewberry entities.
  • Develop improvements to implement production procedures, standards, and techniques for increased productivity and quality.
  • Have strong technical knowledge of individuals' fields as well as symbols and graphic standards and nomenclature through direct discipline experience.
  • Ensure that the team is on the cutting edge of new technology and provide methods for the firm to learn and stay on top of the latest trends.
  • Apply analytical techniques and software to solve more intricate and involved engineering issues on projects.
  • Evolve the team to a center of excellence and resource for the firm.
  • Ensure that the team is on the forefront of new technology and provide methods for the firm to learn and stay on top of the latest trends.
  • Assist and review efforts of Discipline Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Application Experts.
  • Maintain familiarity with current accepted standards and methods for construction in the engineering industry.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of individuals' disciplines.
  • 3D Studio skill set includes creating animated renderings, 2D & 3D detailed photorealistic design, and design visualization projects using 3DS Max.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience directly with the MEP/S disciplines and working in a Civil 3D platform for an A/E/C firm.
  • Highly proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency and a minimum of 5 years' experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and 3D Studio Max.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet simultaneous deadlines.
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
  • Have a willingness to learn the company's business and industry.
  • Believe in and practice teamwork with Virtual Design Group and production teams.
  • Have good verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Have a commitment to our corporate vision and culture.
  • Must possess an aptitude for taking and following directions.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations in performance of responsibilities.
  • Work within Dewberry's current Civil 3D/CAD standards and work with practice areas to expand/modify the standard, as needed.
